Three male birds act as foils to a place, a signwriter, and a mage. The internal discourse between the pieces of this collection centres itself around the world-weariness that accumulates in the heart of an outsider. A cautious application of wisdom stands in for nihilism, which still lurks around, out-of-frame, dangerously close. 
As a result, these six paintings each fall somewhere across the battlefield between loose abandonment and ardent intentionality. Together, they are an escape fantasy, because maybe everything is all a big holiday anyway, and who can tell? Not me
